“Linen is revered for its relaxed beauty, casual sophistication, organic texture and unique inherent characteristics. It wrinkles, creases and relaxes overtime. Perfect for those who
appreciate a relaxed wabi sabi aesthetic”
It always amazes me when a newly woven piece of linen comes off the loom. The stiffness of woven flax and all other bast fibers. Something so ridged to start with, can become something that is so treasured to be passed down for generations.

Yesterday, I was in a boutique artisan store. The owner made a comment about the weight of my new larger size blanket (my “Fall” weight).
In the picture is two future blankets being warped up on the loom (end to end). The loom is 60″ wide and this is about 4600 yards of cotton (+/- 2.5 miles). That amount of warp will weight approximately 3.5 pounds. Being twice as lone as wide, after weaving the two blanket the gross amount will be about 10 pounds. With the waste of the tie up at each end and between of the blankets, they will finish out at more than 4 pounds each.
